"I do not know if these are the views of Saint Exupery or Mermoz who gave me the desire to know the places they had developed their image and feelings they described in their books ... "After 15 years traveling the oceans on my sailboat charter and my big multihull racing, following a trail of 350 000 miles and several dozen Atlantic crossings, I always run to the far horizon curves continue fleeing constantly behind the waves. 1985 - The proa Montpellier Languedoc-Roussillon

The proa "Montpellier Languedoc Roussillon" used construction techniques and advanced revolutionary composite rigging. Its rigging has just been “copied” by the America’s cup winner of 2010, BMW Oracle trimaran !!!! In fact the engineer who calculate it was also the engineer of the BMW Oracle team, Herve Devaux

  • Length: 21 m
  • Width: 15 m
  • Weight: 5.5 t
  • Sail area: 160 m²
  • Construction sandwich vinylester - Airex - glass and foam methacrylate - glass - vinylester. The rig is sandwich carbon - epoxy - Honeycomb

Montpellier Languedoc Roussillon is the first ocean sailing including rigging was replaced by a true wing fitted with flaps. His performance was breathtaking and its extraordinary ease of use.

The project was halted by the mayor of Montpellier following the change in the majority of the Regional Council and a mast breaking consecutive of a defective part. The sailboat was discreetly destroyed by mayor of Montpellier four years later for electoral reasons.

Innovations: rigging wing studied by aeronautical schools in Toulouse (ENSICA) and validated in wind tunnel (CEAT) . Prao Pacific for open race (the first in the world), ballast system (dynamic pressure of the water).
